Pros

The retail team are brilliant hard working, especially some team had been treated so badly still maintain their professional attitude at work. Most of the account managers and store managers still support their team (besides 1 or 2 are bullies)

Cons

Bad senior management in the office, only sitting in office, never want to visit the stores and departments store accounts to see what actually retails team need support. Their attitude treating field teams are low level and stupid. So call Bi-monthly meetings are totally wasted of time, besides announce what they want to say, don't want to listen frield team feedback, no share information or thoughts in the meeting; every time meetings are same, no discussion. It could be just by send an email. The paper works are tedious process, it could be minimise to minimum, but instead try to creat more paper work for field managers and team to do, but the area manager just wants simple easy job that others doing for him. The area manager and whole sale manager don't visit store enough, but just sitting in office blame field team don't have good relationships with the store.... But the field team trying to help to give feedback, they don't listen or provide support.... HR manager doesn't provide any feedback when internally apply a role that didn't get offer, even asked for feedback, it just completely been ignored. HR recruiting new staff without consulting store manager, just drop in without consider if the eprson is suitable or fit in the team. They recruited someone as manager in one store, but the person was been caught stealing within a month.... How this could happen in any company? The company is very mean on staff purchase and allocations, staff purchase has to send an email to list what items are purchasing, to get authorisation, then go to store only to buy the item that been authorised. Allocations only can order been set up, such as 1 fragrance with 1 body or candle, or 1 home scent with 1 candle or body range which is very limited items can be ordered. Plus, no limited editions special range or home decor items can be purchased with staff discount or order as allocations. Pay are low, ( Now they probably give a high pay to new staff as they already have reputation that no good to staff, so trying to pay high to attract people....) Because of all above, their staff really not staying long, all good hard working one are all left or leaving.... One of the new store that have changed the whole team since it reopen... Visual merchandising over take business, if visual merchandising can help male money, all the visual merchandising tools just money spend for nothing. (As the company consider them self as a eco friendly and sustainable, those visual tools are very wasting, only use once, they don't recycle or not given to team, but throw away after used...)

Pros

Nice colleagues Lovely product Great customers Quarterly allocation

Cons

Senior Management, HR, HOS and Area Manager are not leaders. The management style reliant on bullying, always hiding behind e mails. There are no visits to see the hardworking teams or to check on wellbeing. Because of the nature of the senior head office team, some of the retail workers have visited doctors due to high stress levels, many now on antidepressants. There is a massive exodus of staff on all levels at the moment, including some very highly skilled personnel. To date at least 13 staff have left. An investigation should be actioned as soon as possible. Most of the interactions between head office and the retail workers is via ‘Teams’ remote meetings. Even taking place with individuals who really need support face to face. There is a hierarchy, when giving constructive feedback to HR etc no changes are made. No one is listened to and the feeling overall is that the retail teams are fools. Plenty of paperwork piled onto the Managers which does not enable them to drive their teams successfully. One poor assistant Manager was working on a monthly report until midnight in the boutique. There is no duty of care for the wellbeing of the teams. Highly recommend anyone thinking of joining Diptyque in London not to do so , until top management has changed. They have no idea what is going on in their retail stores as they never spend time in stores with the teams. Manzanita should be looking closely at the culture of their business starting at the very top !

Pros

Good work environment Good discount and gratis Good leadership management

Cons

There are a lot of niche services and products that are offered. Not all of them can be explained in such a short amount of time, which can make it feel like the trainee period is long. Also stock does not come in, quickly so the retail team has to constantly tell customers that many products are sold out

Pros

None! It needs to be investigated immediately!

Cons

I am writing to provide feedback as a former employee of Diptyque, and I feel it is important to be honest about my experience. Working for Diptyque was an extremely negative and toxic experience, by far the worst retail company I have ever encountered during my career in the UK. The work environment fostered by Diptyque was unhealthy, primarily due to management. The managers employed by the company were consistently unprofessional and displayed outright bullying behavior. Their treatment of staff was disgraceful, and there was no support system in place for employees to report or resolve these issues. This created a hostile work atmosphere that made it nearly impossible to perform my duties with any sense of well-being. Diptyque not only failed in terms of management but also in basic employee care. There was a blatant lack of respect for staff members, and the working conditions were below acceptable standards. For a company with such a prestigious brand image, the internal culture was a complete contradiction – chaotic, disrespectful, and utterly toxic. To any potential future employees, I cannot in good conscience recommend Diptyque as a place of employment. The company’s disregard for its workers and the hostile environment it allows to persist make it, without a doubt, the worst retail employer I have ever encountered. I hope you take this feedback seriously and begin to address the toxic culture within the organization.

Pros

Beautiful products and brand history

Cons

Staff feel disempowered, micro managed and overworked. Company strategy/ mission seems lost amongst B-corp modern landscape and employees are treated like just a number not whole individuals. There is an arrogance, senior management rule with little empathy or awareness, seems very out of touch.
