Pros

I wanted to share some of the highlights of working at Clothier Design Source, since it seems like the only time people leave reviews is when there is something that upsets them. For me there are a lot of pros, but like any company it has it's ups and downs, but overall is a great place to work. Everyone who works here is incredibly helpful and passionate about what they do. A philosophy the owner lives by is work/life balance. Everyone is paid hourly, so if you spend more than 40 hours working, you are compensated for it. One thing that is fairly new to most people is that management actually cares about your concerns. We have monthly meetings in which you get to spend 1 hour with your manager bringing up any issues. Managers aren't mind readers so if you want something solved you need to speak up.

Cons

Vacation time is something that is not currently offered but it is something they are working on. The company is fast paced, as is the industry, and for some employees comes as a shock. Be prepared to work hard. Overall, if you need a ton of structure, don't plan on working hard and do not want to move up this is not the place for you.

A Disorganized Mess

Pros

"Casual" environment, open scheduling (the scheduling thing can be seen as a con when you have to speak to someone about a project who never seems to actually be in the office)

Cons

Low pay, ZERO benefits/vacation/sick time, No guaranteed hours, disorganized management and apathetic inexperienced staff barely skating by. The owner is usually not present, which is fine because she's not very friendly or personable (which should matter at such a small place) When they hire, they also prefer experience but don't necessarily want to pay you for it, nor do they care that this is just a dead-end job for the majority of employees until they can't take it any longer.

Pros

The onboarding experience was very positive from personal meetings with the owner to regular check ins with my supervisor. I was made to feel that my voice and opinion mattered and I was given the opportunities and tools to make improvements in my department. Yearly employee surveys were given and the results shared with the whole company for transparency, and the most common employee frustrations were discussed publicly. I definitely learned a lot of skills that were transferable to my next position.

Cons

There seems to be very little advantage to working your way up to a Lead position, because you'll be the first to be laid off when times get tough. Pay is low for the industry to begin with and then if you do happen to make a decent wage, you'll get laid off first in order for the company to save money. Deadlines and expectations given are unrealistic and can change at any minute, leaving you stressed and scrambling.
