Pros

Working on the Radar Operations Center contract is a good place to work Currently have decent benefits No more than 40 hours per week expected or allowed

Cons

Benefits have been bad (no 401K matching, super expensive medical) until the final year of the 10 year contract Benefits for employees of one contract are reliant upon other contracts being awarded Fellow coworkers speak poorly of Centuria and discourage people from applying CEO is not well liked No real sense of belonging to the company Management doesn't seem to understand that employees are loyal to the Radar Operations Center, not to the company

Centuria is working hard to improve benefits for employees. The cost of health care is at an unacceptable level for both employees and corporations, especially small businesses like Centuria. But we are winning new contracts and are pushing more of this new revenue into improving employee benefits. Additionally, we have had matching 401K in place 2nd quarter 2018.

Pros

They paid me for my time. Flexible schedule.

Cons

It seems they try to stay fully staffed to appeal to potential customers/contracts. As a result, they hire team members even if the current contract is about to end. They also don't inform potential team members of the impending end to the contract. The only way you will find out is from another co-worker. Despite the main office talking head telling us we had at least 90 days while a contract protest was being processed, I was still laid off (via email Friday evening) two weeks later. They show no concern for potential and current employees beyond what they law requires of them.

Government procurement cancelled immediately after protest filed. Government failed at two attempts to award follow on contract, and then gave up, broke up the work and sole sourced to several 8(a) service providers rather than chance failing a third time. Completely unpredictable, extremely unfortunate and completely unfair to all parties involved. As a direct result Centuria "fired" this customer and will no longer do business with this agency.
