Nice company, but poor culture

Pros

The work is good and challenging, and you get to work closely with your customers (I work in sales). As a big company you have a network all over Europe. Nice benfits, such as shorter days during summer, annual marathon event in the HQ in Rotterdam, health benefits etc. Very generous owners.

Cons

The corporate culture needs improvement. There are many good people, but a lot of the colleagues look after themselves too much, and are unwilling to help others. Also, if there is a problem, there is often a larger focus on finding a responsible person than solving it. Salaries are quite low. Few internal promotions.

Pros

The role itself had interesting scope and exposure to APAC. Some team members were helpful and professional in day-to-day collaboration. Compensation package was competitive for the level (at least initially).

Cons

The work culture felt toxic and cliquey, especially at the management level - far from the collaborative, professional environment I expected for a multinational setup. Management showed little empathy or support during personal difficulties; instead, there was pressure to perform without flexibility or understanding. Poor handling of employee concerns — requests (even reasonable ones discussed with the team) were sometimes misrepresented or twisted in meetings to paint the employee negatively. Overall lack of transparency and fairness in how decisions about people are made; it felt like certain individuals were targeted or pushed out for reasons that weren’t performance-based.
