Management. Management. Management. Clonmel location.
In a fast-paced lab environment with thousands of samples each day, small mistakes will occur. Managers are quick to inform the person of their wrongdoing, without any understanding or otherwise positive feedback. This leads employees to feel overworked (especially with the unpaid overtime, which is more often than not the case) and underappreciated.
Employees feel tense and on edge at work, assuming that there will be stern words any time a manager enters the lab. There are no compliments given from management, no resources provided to lessen the work load or prevent late nights, and no focus on staff retention.
With proper managerial practices in place, I believe that ALS (which has the important job of testing for food and water safety) can be a positive work environment; however, the current regiment leaves the teams feeling exhausted.
