So close to modern slavery

Pros

I’ve been working for A Data Pro for a while now. I’m not in Bulgaria, which is where the company is based. The payment is okay—not terrible, but far from ideal. They offer no benefits, and you only get 9 days of paid vacation in an entire year. If you want more time off, you have to request unpaid leave. There’s no meal allowance, no health insurance, no paid holidays—nothing. On top of that, they expect you to do a lot for a relatively low-paying job. Their requirements are extreme, but the pay doesn’t match the workload. Also, they don’t provide any equipment; you’re expected to use your own computer, which I find odd. I don’t know how things usually work in Bulgaria, but this setup feels like a form of modern-day slavery.

Cons

Work anywhere, and that’s about it.

Pros

Salary seems ok for beginners. One can work remotely. Working hrs are flexible.

Cons

Management constantly puts a lot of pressure over employees to meet deadlines and quality/productivity targets which in turn creates a stressful working atmosphere. Client changes rules on a daily basis so it's difficult to follow them, and they also come up with ridiculous requests. The company cares more about its client than employees themselves. Working overtime is not allowed unless previously approved by your superior. Targets are almost impossible to achieve not even with overtime hours which you should not report because you will be reprimanded for working overtime plus it will have a negative impact on your performance. The more hours you spend working on a report the lower is your productivity/quality score. Working with two languages, like most of the researchers do, is extremely exhausting. I only recommend this job for ppl who are detail-oriented. Management rates your work but researchers do not have that right to rate theirs, which does not seem to be fair at all.

Pros

Home-office and somewhat flexible working hours.

Cons

- Salaries in Sofia are a lot higher for the same position compared to other cities even though all work from home. - No salary growth even after many years. Bonuses are none existent. - No chance of promotion if you work from home. - You will be required to report 8 hours a day and work at least 10. - Competitors offer 60% higher wages for similar positions. - Extremely high staff turnover. -Targets are set so that the company will never pay you bonuses. -Managment's salary is partially based on keeping the staff's salary low.
