I interviewed with Atomos, and would’ve been coming in on a contract basis. Met with the paraplanning team manager which was really positive! I was given an idea of what to expect for the next steps and was scheduled to talk to the team leaders the following day.
I met with the 3 team leaders the next day and felt the interview went really well. This was until I was asked for my salary expectations and the staff not having been made aware of the contract basis that I was being recruited on. I neglected the mention the day rate as this was already agreed and was not a basis for discussion, as I’d been told before the interview.
However, since then I’ve been left in limbo for nearly 2 months. The company have apparently been trying to put out fires caused by the intention to hire myself and another on contract. It appears that this was either not signed off in advance of getting us in for interview or that this was considered too much of an issue after the event. That said, I’m still being told there’s a “chance” of getting in the door but I’ve long made my decision that Atomos is not a company I would want to work at! If you’re being told you might need to sign an NDA so you don’t discuss your salary, it’s not very inspiring. Be better.
