Overall a frustrating and overly drawn-out experience.
A three-stage interview process involving an initial telephone call to discuss your CV, salary expectations, etc, and two hour-long competency-based interviews, one conducted via Teams and the other in-person.
Overall the process took nearly two months due to frequent lapses in communication with the Finance and HR teams, which led to delays in scheduling the 2nd and 3rd stage interviews. The competency-based questions I was asked mainly focused around personality, time management and technical accountancy-related questions.
During the 3rd stage interview I was unexpectedly asked a lot of supervisory/leadership questions which I honestly hadn't expected. Only 4 words in the lengthy job description (buried within a paragraph) had alluded to this being a responsibility.
Since the final interview:
1. I was incorrectly sent an email by HR thanking me for accepting their offer of employment for a slightly different position (I hadn't even been issued an offer letter...)
2. I was promised interview feedback and a final outcome on multiple occasions which never came.
3. They raised concerns over the salary expectations I communicated in the initial phone interview, which were within the bands in the JD, and insisted the role actually paid lower than advertised.
