I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Wok Asian Bistro (Northview, MI)
Interview
A brief and terse interview where the owner spent the whole time on his computer and kept me waiting for over an hour. I waited in very uncomfortable seating in an entirely empty restaurant during their "lunch rush", which is a good indicator of how much a server at Wok will make for tips.
I applied in-person. I interviewed at Wok Asian Bistro (Northville, MI) in Jul 2016
Interview
The owner showed up 40 minutes late to the interview. The employees kept insisting he was going to be there in another 2 minutes or so would have left after 15. I mentioned to him that I had to be at work very soon. So he went on to brag about his restaurant for 40 minutes. I squirmed in my seat, alternately staring at my watch and the exit, but he just kept going on. Felt like I was being held captive in a bad time-share sales pitch. Overall everything about the experience was very unprofessional. The restaurant was a ghost town, literally not one customer, mind you it wasn't during peak hours, but still. Not a good sign.
