      Customer Service Supervisor Interview

      27 Apr 2016
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Declined offer
      Negative experience

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Wayfair

      Interview

Initial contacts were really good. I got a lot of really positive feedback from both phone interviews that were conducted. Everyone seemed really eager to get me on board. I completed the assessments online for the position and felt like I did really well. I did a face to face interview and we discussed my skills and experience. The interviewing manager was very positive throughout the whole experience and even mentioned that I might be better qualified for an equal position in sales instead of customer service. I have 5+ years in customer service/sales and 2 of those years were supervisorial. He indicated that they would get back to me on which position they wanted to hire me for. The entire conversation had me extremely excited to recieve my offer letter. When I received my offer letter, I was offered an entry level position for a laughable hourly wage compared to what was discussed in my interview. I actually thought maybe they had my offer mixed up with someone elses. I politely declined the offer after calling to confirm that it wasn't a mistake. It was a huge waste of my time and vacation from my current job. If you want quality people, you have to pay for it not only in money, but also in respect. I felt like I got slapped in the face with my offer. Especially because I was offered virtually no explanation for the change in position offered and money offered.
