I was invited for the Manager role but now after final round they are offering a lower-level position instead of the expected compensation. Ask them why they changed their stance after the final round. They said they don't have budget. Is this is Ok candidate expend 20K in travelling from other city and HR changed their words after that

Screening round with HR followed by a couple of technical round with group product manager. Generally 1 interviewer. Pass from one interview leads to another interview. Generally there would be 2 technical rounds followed by a final call with the hiring manager
