I applied online. I interviewed at Usborne Books & More (London, England) in Sept 2021
Interview
I had an online interview, and I was surprised as it was more relaxed and like an old-fashioned interview than other interviews I have had recently. By old-fashioned, I mean they actually asked me about things on my CV and unique to me, rather than asking generic skills-based questions which seems to be the norm these days.

Question 1
What things do you think are important for a role writing/ editing children's books?
If you could write a book or a series, what would your dream book/ series be about?
How would you feel working on books/ games for a range of ages?
Are there any topics you would be uncomfortable writing about or that you might find boring?
If asked to write on a topic you don't know about, how would you go about researching the topic?
Other questions related to my answers to the application questions (eg. to elaborate on a written task I had done and how I would imagine the illustrations working with the text). Also questions about my CV and my specific experience and how they might transfer to this role.
Not REALLY am interview person, but a lovely quick chat with other associated on how the business has been successful for them. Discussed work life balance and ability to work from home. Discussed technologies used and how to accommodate work schedules throughout the day.
