I applied online. I interviewed at Universal Space Video Game (Markham, ON) in Sept 2016
Interview
This was back in September and I see they're posting again for the same position. They send you an email to do a character design test. It's not really a good thing to ask people to do free work, but I did it anyways. I was asked to come in for an interview after I submitted the test. Three people were there to interview. Two girls and one guy. The guy offers you a seat and then immediately start the interview. He rapid fires the questions off his paper. The air was tense. I think one of the girls noticed and tried to loosen up the tension and said something that made me laugh. They heavily focused on questions about teamwork. I'm guessing the position opened up because of that. The interview ended and was told I would get a reply by email if they made a decision. I was told I did not get the job. The company seems like an interesting place dealing with arcade games. The room is so green!
How do you handle tight deadlines and would you be able to do overtime work? Was told there are times when the factory in China needs work done and will need to come in or stay late until the work is done, not all the time, but it will happen.
If someone tells you to change something you made, how would you handle it. Especially if it is from a higher up and the decision may not be a good one was hinted on.
