I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at United Airlines (Chicago, IL) in Jun 2023
Interview
Process took three months from the time I applied to the time I received a decision. It was three rounds of interviews plus the initial recruiter call. I got a call from the recruiter within a week of applying and got the initial round of interviews scheduled, which were over Microsoft Teams.
For the first interview, I was given a 'case study' 48 hours before hand to prepare an approach to one of three problems I could choose to solve. It was extremely open-ended and not very technical, just mainly to see your thought process. During the first interview I was also able to showcase a past project I worked on. The second interview was more technical, being asked statistics and machine learning knowledge.
For the third and final interview, they actually flew me out to their headquarters in Chicago. This interview was to meet the team in person and also had some behavioral questions (tell me about a time you faced a challenge during a team project and how you overcame it, etc.).
The recruiter and two people who interviewed me were extremely nice and I really enjoyed meeting them. However, the biggest negative experience regarding the interview experience was how long it took to hear back between each stage of interviewing. In between every stage it took about 3-4 weeks to hear back in regards to whether I made it to the next round. Even after the final interview it took nearly a month to hear the final decision and I had to repeatedly reach out to know if I was still in the running. Since the process took so long and since they actually flew me out in person, I thought I had a good chance at getting an offer but unfortunately did not. Still an overall positive experience but I was disappointed how long the process was.

Question 1
There were two coding questions - one was to get transpose of a n×n matrix without using any inbuilt libraries in Python, the other was to simply check if a string is Palindrome. They also asked about time complexity of the algorithms written.
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at United Airlines (Gurgaon, Haryana) in Mar 2026
Interview
I had my first round of interview few weeks back and then I was told that my second interview will be scheduled, I kept waiting for the invite but I didn't receive it, I called HRs Neha and Simran Multiple times and I was told that my invite has already been sent and I must have received it and later on I received a rejection email and when I asked that they were saying that they've already sent me an invite they said they don't know it might've been updated recently when they had told me multiple times that it's scheduled they've already sent an invite, very unorganised interview experience overall, like they were just telling me about the interview earlier without checking the actual status not sure how a mix up like this can happen.

Most questions were based on resume and projects that I've done
After screening interview, you are sent a homework problem. The final interview is two hours long, where you go over your work and are given a case study problem to walk through.
