      Paralegal Interview

      29 Jan 2021
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Saint Louis, MO
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at U.S. Bank (Saint Louis, MO) in Jan 2021

      Interview

I was contacted by a recruiter the same day I applied online to set up a phone interview to go over the position. After I was told I was great for the position, she forwarded it to a Senior Recruiter who then set up a video interview with two individuals at the location I would work at who were the managers for the department. The main interviewer was very nice and asked the typical interview questions and laid out the position (which really wasn't a paralegal position in the way that the job description stated, so I'm thinking they need to revise this). The other interviewer and department manager had a pretty sour look on her face the whole time and was playing it pretty bad cop. I don't know if she was having a bad day, but she was very short with me and also re-asked a lot of the questions that the first interviewer had already asked and that had been answered. I was told that I would be contacted with their decision this week (the interview was last week). As I was not contacted by today, I went into the online portal to find that I was "No Longer Under Consideration". As an applicant, I submit applications through SO MANY job portals that I don't have time to track down each and every single one for a status update. If an applicant has spoken with 3-4 individuals and made the time to spend 30-60 minutes with each of those individuals, we have invested a significant amount of time. I would have appreciated even a generic response letting me know that I was not selected rather than hearing nothing from any of the 4 individuals that I spent 3-4 hours speaking with. I would not apply there again. So, in short, ensure that your hiring department has the correct job description to post as what I was told in my video interview was substantially different than what was posted and what I was told in two separate phone interviews for this position AND if someone has made it to the "face to face" round of interviewing, letting them know they have not been selected is a professional courtesy.

      Application

I applied in-person. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at U.S. Bank (Saint Louis, MO)

      Interview

One phone screening and then a few weeks later a FTF interview. Everyone through the process was very professional and very easy to talk business with. I enjoyed the laid back interview and really felt we all meshed really well together.
