      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at TransPerfect in Aug 2024

      Interview

I received an email to schedule an introductory interview the day after I applied. Scheduled the interview for the following week. The recruiter was nice, and the conversation was pretty basic. She sent me an editing test to complete, and I did it that night and sent it back to her. 2 weeks have gone by, and I have not heard anything despite following up. Assuming I've been ghosted.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

How many years of editing experience do you have?
      1 Answer

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at TransPerfect in Sept 2024

      Interview

Please note that there are two other interview reviews for the SAME position from approximately 30 days before mine. Like the more detailed review of the two, I also went through multiple rounds of testing (proofreading text, copywriting test, and a half-IQ, half-personality test that took ~30 minutes); however, I was not interviewed beyond a phone call with the recruiter and a subsequent one with the position's direct manager. Both individuals were engaging and polite, but I was brushed off after a week of silence with "the team decided to go in a different direction." In actuality, I can infer what happened based on information revealed during one interview--the former holder of the full-time position being advertised had elected not to come back from maternity leave and was working in a freelance capacity. This person was probably the "internal candidate" referred to in the other detailed review, and my assumption is that this person worked something out to keep their position, thus meaning that the hiring process was done at least partially in bad faith and with no intent to hire, as this situation sounded very fluid. I would've given this a full negative experience were it not for the interactions I had with the aforementioned recruiter and manager--I don't know if they had any actual power to make decisions in this process, so I blame the unseen "director" and the other higher-up who looked at my LinkedIn profile for being the ones to sour things. I would not recommend interviewing with TransPerfect based on this experience.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

The most awkward question was to share what others would see as your worst trait. Other questions were fairly standard self-descriptions.
