I applied online and got an email only a few days later asking for availability for a phone screening. I replied immediately and connected with the recruiter the next day. I thought it went AMAZING. It lasted 20 minutes longer than allotted and the recruiter went super in depth with the hiring, onboarding, training, and day-to-day processes. We ended the interview on a high note. I sent a follow-up with my availability and a genuine question (she told me to ask any questions). I was told I’d receive a response soon, likely by the next day, to talk to the team manager since she felt I was such a good fit for the team. Radio silence. I sent an additional follow-up after one week. No response. I pretty much knew I was getting ghosted, but the role and company seemed so amazing, I sent a final follow-up 3 weeks post interview. Radio silence yet again. I finally got an automated response a WHOLE MONTH later saying they were pursuing other candidates. I pretty much already knew I didn’t get it, but why get a candidate’s hopes up so high to then ghost them? This was super disappointing after reading about how amazing they treat team members online.
