Where to begin... They probably thought they'd got away with such a terrible hiring process but in any case lets go from the start. At the start of December I was referred across from a recruiter for the position (full props to them throughout the entire process). Seemingly a good role, nice amount of responsibility and compensated well for the market, what's the catch? I had 3 interviews before Christmas came, all which went really well. The vision for my role, the trajectory of the company and their plans for growth all outlined to me during these calls - all seemed great! I probably should've picked up on the red flags a lot earlier than I did. One for example being told that the role I was applying for wasn't a priority but rather someone with some more experience was to be put in place first (understandable). However, having had 3 great interviews with really promising signs I wanted some more clarity before the Christmas shutdown - something that was deferred till the New Year. Fast forward 3 weeks, I was given a 4th and final interview and was told I was up against one other candidate. Once again, another positive interview which led to me being offered the job verbally, over the phone via the recruiter. Being told I fit into their "long term vision" and a bunch of other superlatives, I was buzzing to start. Having left my previous role before the offer came in, something which they knew, my eggs were all figuratively in one basket. During the weeks that followed, I had turned down other job opportunities, interviews and other advances from recruiters. I did this because not only had they offered me the job but over the next two weeks, they continued to reassure me that the official offer was coming but they were just really busy, that I had nothing to worry about, bla bla bla. 14 days after I was told over the phone the job was mine, I was then told via the recruiter that the job offer was no longer on the table as they were on a hiring freeze. You'd think after taking someone on a 6 week hiring process and offering them the job, they'd have the initiative to think about the implications of the company not hitting their growth targets. Following the disappointing news that Total Processing couldn't follow through with their words, I reached out to the person responsible for the hiring process via text, phone and email on multiple occasions - ignored... To add insult to injury, I see that a new hire in January announcing how happy he is to be joining Total Processing. In all fairness, I really appreciate them doing this because I seemingly dodged a bullet! Pathetic, Dishonest & Disrespectful
