I applied through university. I interviewed at Tieks
Interview
I have been putting off this review for years. I had a TERRIBLE interview experience when I was a new grad. The interviewer asked me to drive to the valley for the interview, which I did. This was before they made the move to their current office. I had a really long interview with her, where she made snide remarks about my transcript, GPA, and picked apart a grade from one of my classes. PROTIP: Interviewers CANNOT ask you for your transcript. I naively gave them mine, because I didn't know at the time. I didn't have bad grades, and I have NEVER had anyone ask for my GPA or anything since entering the workforce. I will never forget how I felt when my interviewer told me "Well...we are looking for people with like...3.8 GPAs or higher, you know?" She had my transcript before she scheduled the interview so I felt like she was having a power trip and wanted to humiliate me. I am happy to say I didn't get an offer here and got a very unprofessional vibe from the whole process.
I applied online through my uni about a year before being contacted. The first interview was a quick 20 minute conversation where the interviewer spoke about the company, the role, and asked basic intro questions: why are you interested, tell me about your experiences etc,. Everyone, or almost everyone, begins on their customer service team and is then possibly promoted. The details on that were vague.
The second round was a Facetime interview with the first person and with a founder and began 10 minutes late. Neither of them introduced themselves at the beginning of the call. The founder would vary between asking either 2-3 questions at a time or one very vague question (and was annoyed when I asked her to clarify). She would occasionally cut me off after I began speaking. At one point she mocked my experience (and was wrong with her assumption about it). At times it felt like an interrogation. I have had difficult interviews and interviews where it was clear the interviewer wanted to be somewhere else, but no one has ever talked to me with such disdain and been so unprofessional. Maybe she was having a bad day or something.
I was asked (for some reason) to move onto the next round but declined. They claim to have a great, supportive culture, but I find that hard to believe after speaking with a founder.
