      Executive Team Leader Interview

      16 Apr 2012
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Los Angeles, CA
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied in-person. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Target (Los Angeles, CA) in Nov 2011

      Interview

Sent my resume via online, about two weeks later got an email from HR regarding setting up a time for an initial 10-15 Minute interview over the phone. During the initial phone interview, I was asked just a few questions like " are you available to work days, weekend and nights?" whats your weaknesses?, why do you want to work at Target?.' I passed and the interviewer set up an in-person interview at one of the store in Los Angeles a week later. Prior to the 1 on 1 interview I received an email from the HR on how to better prepare before the interview takes place(In my opinion they want you to help and success the whole interview process). They also sent me an online link for the skills test that you must take it prior to the in-person interview. I was interviewed by 2 different managers with a few behavioral-based questions like "tell me a time when you had to handle conflicts at workplace?' Questions were really easy as long as you prepare and I was not well prepare at that time. When I walked out of the room I knew I didn't meet they're expectation. although, I learned a great deal out of their interview process. A week later I received an email that said they pursued another candidate. My simple advise to those who wants to work there is practice...practice and practice on your most complex leadership situations and experience!! By just being in their office for about half hour I could sense they have a great work culture environment. And, I like how they address their employees with team members and the managers with team leader. Good Luck!!

I applied through university. I interviewed at Target (Charlotte, NC)

      Interview

It was a two step interview process. Personable and you are able to interview with not only your direct managers but theirs as well. Provides transparency into your new team. My interview was virtual because I was moving to the area, but I'm sure they do in person for local folks.
