I applied on Indeed in August 2024 and didn't hear back until September 2024. It was from a lady in Sweden and on LinkedIn, she is an advisor to Suvie which I thought was very strange. We booked some time chat about the position and she told me the process. We specifically talked about the role being remote with maybe an occasional office visit when the CEO was in town. It seemed like that would happen a handful of times in a quarter which I was fine with. I interviewed with the VP of Product and then interviewed with the CEO. I was made an offer and accepted.
The night before my first day,. I was called and told that I would need to be in the office tomorrow and the next 3 days. Then the conversation was about how there was a miscommunication with leadership and this role would have to be 3 days in office and after a month or so, 5 days in office. They said that they had the legal right to change things based on business needs. No, that's called bait and switch and I'm about 90 minutes each way. Just because you can legally change things abruptly doesn't mean you should, especially the night before my first day. I ultimately rescinded my offer letter.
