      27 Feb 2018
      Anonymous employee
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied in-person. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Sun Life

      Interview

Internal recruiter was excellent and on top of everything. I had several phone calls and two in-person interviews. All well organized. Everyone I talked to was very pleasant and helpful. The interview questions were straightforward and conversational. You were made to feel at ease and your time was valued. I can’t say enough good things about the internal recruiter, he was awesome.

      Accepted offer

      Average interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 months. I interviewed at Sun Life (Toronto, ON)

      Interview

By memory, the interview process spanned four months and involved over twelve individual discussions with various leaders across the organization. At the AVP level, the discussions were fairly informal, focusing on my past work experience, leadership style and knowledge of set technical concepts. Some of the discussions were very engaging, allowing me to meet key stakeholders across the business, others felt adversarial and direct.

      Assistant Vice President Interview

      18 Oct 2016
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Toronto, ON
      Declined offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Sun Life (Toronto, ON) in Sept 2016

      Interview

Very unprofessional Recruitment staff. The initial phone interview with HR was followed by an in-person interview (flew me in to Toronto) with Head of the group and team. This was followed by another phone interview with a potential direct colleague. The final step was a phone interview with the group President, followed by an in person meeting. The process proceeded quickly at first. All of the interviews went well including one with the President. I was selected as a finalist and had to do a 4 hour test. HR followed up thereafter saying they will be back to me within a week. Never heard from them again. As a finalist taking time to go through their process and not get a call back either way is unprofessional.
