I applied for the Freight Audit & Pay Analyst role and had an initial phone screen with a recruiter. Unfortunately, the experience felt rushed and impersonal. The recruiter joined the call late, admitted to misdialing, and frequently interrupted while I was answering questions. It was clear she didn’t have much insight into the actual role or team and emphasized multiple times that she wasn’t involved with day-to-day operations.
While I understand the purpose of a phone screen is to be brief, the tone came across more transactional than conversational. It felt like a checklist rather than a genuine opportunity to learn about me or for me to learn about the team.
