      Recruiter Interview

      15 Feb 2018
      Anonymous interview candidate
      McLean, VA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Spry Methods (McLean, VA) in Feb 2018

      Interview

I came across the position on a job board and applied. I then connected with one of the corporate recruiters for the company through LinkedIn. The recruiter was very responsive through LinkedIn and immediately invited me to a basically on the spot phone screen (I had about an hour and a half to prepare). By the next morning (Thursday) I received an email inviting me to an in-person interview. This was scheduled for the following Monday. Upon arrival I was greeted by an unknown staff member that went to let the hiring manager know I had arrived. The recruiter I had spoken with walked in the door while I was waiting and guided me to meeting room and offered me water while I waited. A few minutes later the Hiring Manager entered. Introduced himself and we began. Only one main question was asked and after answering turns out the Hiring Manger hadn’t even looked at my resume or application. I did more interviewing of them than they did of me. In the middle of the interview he told the recruiter to make sure some presentation was ready. All & all he seemed uninterested and distracted. After shaking his hand to leave, he immediately shot his attention to whatever he was concerned about the whole time, before I even left the room. I waited about a week and half to hear anything.
