Standard phone screening with HR. 1:1 interview with Store Manager. The first and only question she asked me is if I had any children or dependants? I told her no, and she’s actually not allowed to ask me that. The rest of the ‘interview’ was her showing me around the store, sharing store financial information and employee gossip. I genuinely thought I had the job as she was sharing such confidential information. Received a call from HR saying the Store Manager didn’t think I had the skills or experience for the role, despite the fact that she didn’t ask me a single question relating to skills and experience. She also said I’d require too much coaching...clearly she hadn’t even looked at my resume, but despite that, isn’t coaching part of the role of the Store Manager? Also, no policy and procedures regarding OH&S? Glad I didn’t get the job once I received all the ‘feedback’
