Garbage. Recruiter was so clueless (was "sick" for our first one and showed up almost 20 minutes late to the next one). She interviewed and didn't seem to understand technical terms but just threw them out there - i felt embarrassed for her. Lastly, she tried to down level me before the interview process started saying that I don't have the YOE to be staff but I'd be considered for a more high entry level job. (Mind you i've worked for over a decade). All in all - if this recruiter is any representation of Spotify then I'd pass due to sheer incompetence.
Horrible interview screening with the recruiter. Recruiter kept trying to claim that I didn't even have enough experience for the staff data scientist role (I've worked 11-12 years) and tried to get me to accept a Senior Data Scientist role despite explaining to her that I was already a lead and managing two data scientists. Salary expectations were below my current total compensation as well - felt like this recruiter (MV) was unfair and biased to start (can't tell you why but I can only guess). I feel like these types of decisions should be based on the interview as well as the hiring manager's decision but I feel like the HR staff here is already biased and unfair to begin with without gauging talent/skill which tells me a lot about Spotify's culture and people. Avoid this place like the plague.
