No! No! No! I applied for a Senior Software Engineer position at Speakap and was invited to a 30-minute video interview. Unfortunately, the experience was quite disappointing.
The interviewer joined a few minutes late without any apology and there was very little engagement or genuine curiosity about my background or what I could bring to the team — it felt like a formality rather than a real conversation.
I came to the interview with strong interest in the company and high expectations, but the process didn’t reflect the level of professionalism or respect for candidates that I’d expect from a company of this size.
I hope the team takes candidate experience more seriously in the future — even a short, respectful, and well-conducted interview can leave a much better impression.
