1. Filled out application online, which triggered next step of application process
2. Took an "aptitute" type test on reading reports, and situational type questions
3. Took a behavior/personality test online. About 250 questions, that were very bizarre. Did I want to run away when I was a teen? Did I want to be a Deep Sea Diver?
4. Called by Store Manager and scheduled an interview.
First, I get there about 5 minutes early, and asked for the person who was to interview me. All I got was "oh, that person doesn't work here anymore" I sat down and waited anyway. So after the person shows up 10 minutes late, we start interviewing. Typical behavioral type questions. The person then gives me a tour of the store, focusing on the areas I would be responsible for. Knew after the tour that I did not want the job. A 40 hour a week was going to be more like 60-70 from what I saw.
Then the first interviewer gave me a report to study, kind of a mock sales/associate report to study, then in about 10 minutes I was going to review it with the Store Manager as part of step 2 of the interview process and tell them what I saw as opportunities. Store Manager didn't show up till 40 minutes later. They came in later than scheduled, but found time to stop for coffee. Wow. Talked more, with more behavioral type questions.
Ended Interview with a "we will be notifying candidates next Thursday, either way." I knew already even if offered, I would turn down the job(unless it payed really well!, but even then would have to think about it) Two and a half weeks later I get the form email letter about a more qualified candidate...
