I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Seabirds Kitchen (Costa Mesa, CA) in Jan 2015
Interview
Over the phone interview, then an in person interview, third interview was what they call a "stodging." You come in to work for three hours so they can see how you work in their kitchen. I was showed around the kitchen where all the kitchen tools are held and what is done at each station, the worksheet of task, etc. I was then showed how to do some prep work for some of the food items. Once I was showed how to do the work I was left alone to complete the task and not supervised while I was doing my prep work. That was continued for the next three hours then I had a third short interview with the owner and was given a free menu item for my three hours of work. Then no follow up call.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Have I ever heard of their restaurant name, am I a vegetarian, if I lead an active lifestyle for example, did I join any sports in High School, why do I want to work for them, what my experience is in the kitchen and how long have I been working in the kitchen, and if I had any questions for them.
