I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at SAP (Bengaluru) in Nov 2014
Interview
One telephonic and two or three onsite interviews. Questions were mostly on Java and problem solving. I felt the questions were mostly related to the domain they are into and the problems they face. So its difficult to get the questions in the first place.
I was informed that I was selected. I wanted a telephonic with the Manager to understand the roadmap of the product and work etc. Not only that they did not schedule the interview anytime, they did not extend me the offer. They dont seem to care about candidate. As long as they can join quickly and meet the bar, they are good to go.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Questions related to ConcurrentModification Exception, Schema design for a quite a flexible database. General Design questions, Preferring Composition over Inheritance etc.
I applied through other source. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at SAP (Reston, VA) in Mar 2016
Interview
After applying in LinkedIn, recruiter from SFO office contacted me and scheduled a phone screen. Phone interview was about 30 minutes. Questions were around transaction management, UML, OOPS concepts etc. Not very hard. First got feedback that they will not be proceeding further. Then suddenly after two weeks, recruiter came back to say they want me to attend in-person. No interviewer names were provided nor the agenda. At the in-person interview, they made me wait extra 15 minutes citing that interviewers are in a meeting. In the in-person interview, the interviewers were very much particular about UML symbols in class diagrams and drawing Entity-Relationship diagrams in Database design. Felt they are still in very much old-school mode of software development.
