I first did a video interview with the project manager. As she was impressed positively by me and my portfolio, she arranged an in person meeting with the owner. I was at the office on time on the day that is scheduled for the interview. There was a lady who I assumed was the material librarian, she told me to wait then went inside to let someone know. Then came back, saying the owner is on the phone and he will accept me soon. I sat and started waiting. 15 minutes later, a lady and her child walked in to the office. The librarian lady went inside again and this time owner's assistant came back but to greet the lady and the child. I guess they were her acquaintances. They talked and talked and finally she turned to me and said the owner was still on the phone and she would let me know when he's ready. After waiting for 30 minutes I walked behind the assistance and the owner greeted me. No apology, nothing for making me waited all that time like only their time is precious but no one else's. It only took 15 minutes max with some basic questions and me showing my portfolio. At the end he said "you are interesting let's give you a project and see what you can do." His assistant sent me a pdf and asked me to create a concept and floor plans for a residential building's co-working area and community lounge which are approx. 4000 sq ft. I worked on it for 3 days, and sent the concept and detailed floor plans. It was more than what they asked for a first pass. I followed up a couple times but I haven't heard back anything from them. I think, if you are interviewing someone to the point that you give them a project to work on, at least you would give them an answer no matter what the outcome is, positive or negative.
