      NOC Technician Interview

      19 Aug 2015
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Los Angeles, CA
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Riot Games (Los Angeles, CA) in Jun 2015

      Interview

The recruiter first contacted me after a week of applying via web. I had 4 phone interviews, the first one was directly to ask technical questions that I fell that I answer correctly at least 90%, the following 3 interviews were over Skype (the last one with webcam optionally) and they were more about experience and personal growth, you know the typical question, where do you see in 5 more years, why did you leave your last job and that kind of questions. Every interview was with tech Managers. Eventually I didn’t get the job and the "open feedback" came from a "no-replay" email and they mention just 2 good things about me but they never gave the reason why I wants adequate for the position and as it was a no-replay email you can’t ask what went wrong.

      NOC Technician Interview

      21 Oct 2018
      Anonymous employee
      Dublin, Dublin
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3+ months. I interviewed at Riot Games (Dublin, Dublin) in Jul 2018

      Interview

The interview process was long, but enjoyable. Week 1: I was contacted through LinkedIn by a recruiter working for Riot Games, followed by a short phone call with the recruiter to discuss the role and my suitability for it. Week 2: Sent over my CV & cover letter for the role. Week 3: I had an interview with the NOC team lead through Google Hangouts. This was a voice-only interview, where we discussed my CV in short, and then got to know each other a bit (we mainly talked about our favourite games). I was called a day or two later to be informed I got through to the next stage. Week 6: After this, we scheduled an interview with the Head of Live Operations and the Global NOC Manager. This interview was a 90-minute one also on Google Hangouts, that focused on technical ability and how you'd fit into the culture. In preparation for this, I had to complete a technical survey, to tailor the interview to my current level of knowledge. They called a day or two later to inform me I was through to the next stage. Week 8: I was invited on-site for a day full of interviews. This started at 11am and finished at 7pm, and the day went something like this: - Tour of the offices with the recruiter - Technical interview with NOC Engineer - Lunch with the NOC team lead - Game of League of Legends with NOC team lead, and everyone else who was around (in PC cafe on site) - Interview with Senior Development Manager, where we mainly talked about games - Behavioural/situational interview with someone from accountancy - Google Hangouts with 2 Live Producers, which focused on how you would manage priorities of incidents happening at the same time. - Google Hangouts with Head of Live Operations and Global NOC Manager; since we had spoken before it ended up just being another chat about games. - Google Hangouts with Head of Live Support covering some situational interview questions. After this, everyone gets together and gives a thumbs up/down & then discusses why they think you're a good/bad fit for the company. Week 9: I was informed that I was going through to the next stage and we set up the next interview. Week 10: Google Hangouts video call interview with the General Manager of European Operations, which was typical chat-style interview, with a few behavioural type questions. I was given feedback about that one the following day. Week 12: Google Hangouts video interview with 2 hiring sponsors, to make sure I fit in with their culture. This one was the most formal behaviour/situational type interview of the whole process. I was asked a lot about more negative aspects (what your worst qualities are, what you need to improve on, something that holds you back). The wait period after this was longer than the rest, I was told it went well about a week later and spent a further 2 weeks waiting for the next stage. Week 15: Job offer from Global NOC Manager! :)

      Interview

The interview process was very well organized and effective. Recruiter is really nice and works on scheduling very well. One thing is for sure, get to know the company before going into the interview. Received valuable feedback that helped me on future interviews.

      NOC Technician Interview

      10 Oct 2016
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Dublin, Dublin
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Riot Games (Dublin, Dublin) in Sept 2016

      Interview

I've had a 3 stage phone interview. First was with Lead Manager that asked questions about my work and gaming experience. Second screening was with a Team Lead and it was a little bit more technical about details and operations that I've done before. And on the last phone screening was also with Lead member and they asked me the same questions they already asked before. It was a 3 stage interview with mostly the same questions. After 3th interview I've got the answer that I am not fully player oriented person so therefore I am not up to their standards even doh I have a lot of experience and willingness to learn and to do a great job.
