I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at ReliaQuest (Salt Lake City, UT) in Sept 2025
Interview
Recruiter reached out to me on LinkedIn and asked for a resume, I gave it to them and then they asked for a phone screening.
During the screening they asked standard questions about my experience, but when they found out that my current job doesn’t use Java, they automatically assumed I wasn’t qualified for this position and cut the interview off immediately. I’ve never had a recruiter do that before, no further questions, just “sorry you’re not qualified.” Even though I have 4+ years experience of Java prior to my current job. On top of that I had 3+ experience in C++ and other low level languages. Found it interesting they only value a singular language. That to me doesn’t seem very strong business practice and implies they don’t value professional development within their own organization.
