The company said that they hoped this opportunity would help underrepresented folks in OSS, and that interns would be registered as employees, but the pay was for 8$ an hour. I raised the concern that this is below the legal minimum wage, and that if they want to be an ally to underrepresented folks then they should pay them fairly. the company rescinded my internship offer.
