I applied through university. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Protiviti (Washington, DC) in Oct 2010
Interview
Started with a pre-night reception where I got to meet and greet current employees. Very fun - informal yet professional. The interview was the next day - very general questioned based upon resume experience. The interviewer did not ask any hard questions - in fact, he skipped many standard questions. Overall - the interview was extremely short. Most interviews are 30-40 minutes, but ours was less than 15. I got the sense that they already made a decision before the interview. I received a "No" response less than 8 hours after the interview if that gives you a hint.

I applied in-person. I interviewed at Protiviti (New York, NY) in Sept 2025
Interview
Very friendly and helpful interviewers willing to help you out a little if you’re stuck during the case interview portion. For behavioral, typical STAR method but still a challenging process regardless.

Question 1
Tell me about a time you had to work in a team environment?
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Protiviti
Interview
One interview and case study
Case study took well over 5-6 hours of unpaid work if you were to do it detail. Requested JD on 3 occasions from HR, was eventually given vague high level description. It is completely unclear what they want, you would need project management and scoping skills, also detailed solution architecture and hands on coding skills. The coding exercise would take 2 hours on its own. The role requested 3 years experience.
Questions were basic and didn't enquire about candidate experience, many MCQ one line response questions.
Interviewer was unable to tell me sir the role, the practice or company. Was unwilling to share details of his own experience within the company, or types of projects.
The first introduction was a phone call with recruiter. The second round is a 30 minute behavioral and a 30 minute technical interview. Overall, it was very well done, and I think I learned a lot about the firm overall.
