I received an offer via email for a phone interview. I set up the appointment. My interviewer called me on time and went over the position and what it would involve. It was then pretty standard interview material - I got to go over my resume and experience, the skills I had, et cetera. A week later, I had an offer - 72 hours to take it or leave it. I accepted it. Standard background check, drug test after that.
