At first, everything is very professional. Arthur is a very professional HR staff and very open to questions too. He also shared some insights on the upcoming interview. In the next phase the interview with the user then everything became a bit odd. The user seems not well prepared for the interview, the questions that were asked were taking me further from the position's scope. Things even went way far from the job post requirements, as the user asked me how well I am at negotiating with BUMN people, and whether I had experience dealing with the enterprise people in a project. Nevertheless, they didn't pass me for "not having specific technical requirements" reason which I asked Arthur how I was not having specific technical requirements if I was never being asked questions regarding my technical ability. Even when I asked about the biggest challenge I will face in my first 3 months, the user bluntly answered it will be regarding the tax terms and not about the technical aspects because (as he said and I quote) the team members are all experts in what they do, so I don't need to fix anything or try something new. I mean, if you're looking for a project manager then put the job post for a project manager, not for an engineering manager. How should I be at the same level of knowledge with them on tax terms if I was not working on tax area in my latest job? Of course, I know basic terms but newer terms would be too much don't you think? Overall not so a bad experience with the interview process, it's just the user was not consistent and seemed (so obviously) not in line with the HR team. I feel sorry for their engineering team actually.....
