National Research & Development interview questions

They asked many strange or off-putting questions such as "If a family member died, how much time would you need off", or "If you had to be in office all day Monday, then drive 7 hours completely uncompensated outside of gas money to a client's town and be in their office all day Tuesday, what would you do", They followed that up with "Your manager calls at 9pm on Friday and tells you your work needs to be fixed up, do you pick up the phone, and if you do, do you finish the work there and then". Alongside the scathing reviews left by previous employees on this site, I would steer clear of this company, they will enslave you and will underpay you. They also made me do 4 assessments, the excel one is the most challenging, requiring you to clean up data and migrate it. This is a sales position, and should not require this type of work unless the company does not have a CRM, which they do not. STEER CLEAR.

My worst interview experience to date. I got only a small fraction of the experience that the employee reviews talk about but it was enough to make me never want to apply to this company again. The owner came off as arrogant, interviewed as if trying to get me to prove myself to him instead of trying to learn about my background and experiences, and came off as if he was trying to make me feel bad about even bothering to apply to his company because I was underqualified. He then spent the last 15 minutes trying to get me to make an oral agreement to stay with the company for 5 - 10 years so that they could justify spending so much money and hours training me, because he's openly paranoid about people staying for only 1 year for SR&D experience and then leaving for his competitors. I can now see why people leave the company so often. After leaving the interview with a bad taste in my mouth, I then received an Excel test that was so convoluted that I didn't even bother completing and voluntarily withdrew my application, which I have never done during an interview process. Afterwards I saw that even 6 months later, the position was still not filled and open to applications, which didn't surprise me. Overall a very strange experience.
