It doesn’t matter how you answer, if hiring manager is judgemental and builds a preconceived notion about you, your responses are secondary as decision has already been made to not be in your favour. In telephone interview, hiring manager tells you that your skills are a good match and then in face to face interview you get rejected with an excuse your skills don’t match. Sometimes you end up with a wrong hiring manager.
