I applied for a position for one of their hotels and received a call a few days later to do a phone screening. It went well and I was asked to come in for an in-person interview. We agreed on 10:30 since I was coming from the other side of Pittsburgh and wanted to avoid rush hour (I wrote all the info in my day planner just in case). I was told I would get an email calendar invite for the interview that would include the address, time, and name of the person I was to interview with, which I did. The problem was the invite had the wrong time. When I emailed the person back, he called and emailed me back with a snarky attitude saying that it was indeed 9 am. Instead of arguing, I thanked him and changed the time on my calendar. After an hour drive, in traffic, I arrived 15 minutes early. I stood at the reception desk for 5-10 minutes, as there was no one there to greet me. When the receptionist did arrive she showed me to a messy and dirty board room to sit and wait in. The gentleman who I spoke to on the phone arrived and introduced himself and brought me a glass of water, which had a lipstick smudge on the rim. He asked me 3 questions and was rather condescending, and looked bored and annoyed. He then informed me I wasn't a good fit, but he'd keep me in mind for other opportunities. The whole interaction lasted 8 minutes. The person I was supposed to interview with never darkened the doorstep and I essentially wasted my time. I'm not mad I didn't get the job, I'm astonished at the lack of professionalism. I understand the companies need to hire the best person possible, but it is their responsibility to accurately describe what they are looking for in an ideal candidate in the first place and conduct thorough phone screenings before bringing someone in for an interview. I will never consider this company again. I have been on several interviews recently and this was by far the worst experience overall.
