There were four steps total. 1 - I applied via the internet 2 - I was sent an automated email requesting I complete an online assessment 3 - I was offered a phone interview 4 - Assessment day (final round of interviews) I was in the US but applied for a position in the UK.

Applied through the website. Completed an online form and was then invited to take part of an Online Interview. Although I usually don't like this type of assessments it went quite well. The type of questions asked were rather of fit with the industry, the role and the company. Apparently I performed above average and in two weeks time was invited to take part of the last round of interviews. This consisted of an Assessment Center with three activities. We were invited to come to a Marriott property with other candidates. There was a very nice atmosphere around with international candidates and Marriott associates from across different London Properties. With over 40 people at the main room, we introduced ourselves and then went to solve an activity. This was a group activity that consisted to work on teams and pitch and defend an idea of how a recent new of our choice would influence Marriott. Then, we were asked 1 week in advance to prepare a SWOT analysis on Marriott as in the UK. This session lasted for about 2 to 3 hours, as we had to watch other people presenting it. Lastly, speed interview questions that lasted for half an hour. 8 questions for 4 different competencies. We weren't told that this would happen, (but I mean, easy to guess given that was the last step of the process). Every two questions would be asked from a different interviewer. My advice would be to give more information about the whole day in advance to candidates and count on more staff to conduct the activities, as these were delayed for over an hour since the beginning.
