After I submitted an application, I received an email that invited me to a one-on-one interview within 24 hours. I did the interview on Friday, and it all went really, really well. The interviewer said that the cosmetics department head would call me the next Thursday when she got back from vacation. I waited till Monday, but she didn't call. However, I did receive a generic email on Monday that said they had filled the position already. It was difficult to tell if this was supposed to be in response to the interview I had had. I called, and was told the cosmetics department head would call me back. But, she didn't. It's too bad for them, really. They don't know what they missed. :)

I worked at Macy's in the late 2010s. The cosmetics manager asked me several questions. A few questions were difficult, like asking about what I would do if I saw a coworker stealing, but most were straightforward. She was also very respectful and supportive since I was unsure how to answer a few of the questions. They know that you need time to learn. Overall, it was a great experience for a beginner applicant.
