      Backend Developer Interview

      16 Jul 2025
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Bengaluru
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Lobb (Bengaluru)

      Interview

      1. Assessment 2. Assignment 3. 1:1 Technical Interview 4. The Final Round – CTO Interview (aka The Nightmare Round) I successfully cleared all technical rounds until the final interview with the CTO. Unfortunately, this turned out to be most unpleasant conversations I've had in a professional and personal setting. Despite my technical performance, it became clear that the final decision was less about skills and more about the CTO’s subjective mood and attitude. It didn’t feel like a technical discussion at all instead, it resembled a blame game. At no point did it seem collaborative, constructive, or welcoming. The tone was condescending, and genuine curiosity or respect for candidates was missing. To understand more, I reached out to a few people who previously worked there. The immediate and consistent response was: "Don’t join. It’s toxic." The CTO, who represents the tech leadership, has a reputation for being rude and unapproachable. This aligns with the discomfort I felt during the interview. 🚩 If you’re scheduled to interview here, especially with the CTO, be prepared but also know that it may not be a reflection of your capability if things don’t go well.
