      Sourcing Manager Interview

      16 Jul 2022
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Lands' End in Jun 2022

      Interview

Worst interview I’ve ever had. The recruiter was late by ten minutes, didn’t have my information ready, didn’t turn her camera on, ate (loudly) during the call, and was plain rude. She asked random questions, which when asked for clarification, proceeded to yell the same question louder… finally she asked what my salary requirements were, she laughed/balked at my response— she said her budget was $80k and there was NO range (to be clear, I’m making $105 in a similar role also in the area). After this terrible conversation she had the audacity to tell me to add her on LinkedIn to stay up to date on other opportunities with LE. No, thanks.

      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Lands' End (Dodgeville, WI) in May 2021

      Interview

My name was given by a person that turned down a position for Sweater Sourcing Manager. The HR person emailed, set up a time and we had a phone call. She felt dismissive from the start. I had worked for the company 13 years ago with positive experience and no bad performance issues. I left as I was recruited to another company offering a substantial title and compensation increase. The HR person ( who was not there when I was before) asked if I would relocate and I said yes briefly detailing where I had lived when I worked there before. She asked me what I expected for compensation. Unemployed I said I am open and that I would assume it is similar to what I made prior. She asks what that amount was. I replied. She jumped angrily saying "was that with bonus"? I said no that was the base salary. Then I began to think I was wrong....but I wasn't. She said I don't know where you would get those numbers? I felt she was accusing me of not being truthful. I would assume she has records to look this info up? I even backtracked saying maybe it was a senior manager title? - (it was not) . She wanted to end the convo and I purposefully remained polite. I emailed her thanking her for the call and said that I hope the salary info would not be a sticking point. Weeks later I received an email saying " they went with another candidate who's experience better fit the role". I have 20+ years of experience in sweaters- and have managed many other classifications also. Age is a factor as I also have never only spoken to a HR person when looking for employment.. without being moved on to others in the hiring process. NEVER in 30 years.....
