TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE.
I felt EXTREMELY uncomfortable with some of the questions the senior executive was asking me in regards to my monetary situation. I do not think that this is related to the role at all, or that it would provide any insight into if I would be the right candidate.
Moreover, the Senior Executive expressed I was not right for this role and that perhaps a marketing role would be better suited. Following this he made an uncomfortable comment that any place would hire me as I was “extremely attractive”. This is very unsettling and rather appalling to express in a professional setting, let alone a job interview.
Following these disgusting comments I was asked what my parents do, what my siblings do, how much money I make, and if I have money/ access to money.
I complained to the talent acquisition person following the interview as I quite simply was in shock after the event, and could hardly process what just occurred. He responded with a very insincere message, and it is quite clear they have a seriously warped view on what is appropriate to ask someone in a job interview.
I took serious offence to the comment that I would be better suited in marketing as I was “extremely attractive”, insinuating I was just a pretty face and that I have nothing else to offer a company. I also find it extremely inappropriate for a Senior Executive to be making a comment like that to a young female.
I am also left perplexed as to how my parents and siblings occupations play into my suitability for a role, as this was another question asked.
I was left feeling extremely uncomfortable and interrogated. Avoid this bottom of the barrel tech company like the plague, they claim they’re the “next Microsoft” 🤣.
