      Management Trainee Interview

      26 Jan 2018
      Anonymous interview candidate
      London, England
      No offer
      Positive experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Inspire 212 (London, England) in Jan 2018

      Interview

Found the office easily, I usually get lost for my interviews: So thank you for the email with directions, super useful. The interview itself was straight to the point: Reviewed my skills and career goals. I was able to ask questions regarding different aspects of the company like structure, pay, progression and projects I would work on. Personally, I found the managing director to be super friendly and inspiring.

      Interview

The interview process is interesting, there are three interviews, two with another trainee manager and one with the manager, they didn’t ask too much about myself at first, just stated that they want motives people who can make commission, that’s all.

      Interview

PYRAMID SCHEME. Firstly, I'd like to start by saying the whole team are lovely, very good at talking and hence, very good at their job, which is purely sales. I received an email saying my application stood out on Indeed and that they wanted me to come in for an interview, literally the next day! I had to try and reschedule as I was busy, and a days notice is unprofessional considering most people already have jobs! The way that it was worded was that they were drawing the interview process to a close and that my application stood, out, therefore they were willing to slot me in on the last day. RED FLAG 1: I got to the interview and was asked to fill in a form, which basically outlined everything included in my CV. After a half an hour wait amongst another 20 so people waiting to be interviewed, you then sit down with the Managing Director and she goes through the form you filled in, evidently having not even seen your CV. The interview was lengthly, inspiring and really positive, I was told that it was marketing without the 'cold calling or hard sell' that the work was largely focused on the progression in the company should you work to it, something very inspiring to hear for a graduate or anyone who is willing to make an impression. I then received a phone call asking me to come in the next day for a second 'assessment day' where you are paired up with a current manager and travel to the outskirts of London to literally SELL on the streets. You are told about their clients on the train there, your second interview (travel funded by you of course, not the company) I was then shocked to be stood on the street for 45 minutes in the middle of Winter, talking about sales techniques to sell a CHARITY to passers by, the fact that a charity has to even resort to paying a marketing firm says a lot. Upon success of the second interview phase, I was told I would have a final meeting with the MD, where we went over the pay structure. I was advised it wasn't fixed so that there was no cap, and I would be on NO LESS than £300 a month. Not to mention that there was no minimum either. Yep, you could be working for 0 if you don't make any sales in your first week. I was then told I would be told at 8PM that night if I got the job, unprofessional again for a company that labels themselves as corporate. **If you're money hungry and a great seller, and will stop at nothing to reach the top, this is the job for you. Aspiring graduates looking to get into a stable, rewarding career, this is not. Also beware of FAKE reviews mentioning parking, for a central London based firm?!!
