      Account Executive Interview

      26 Sept 2015
      Anonymous interview candidate
      San Mateo, CA
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Indeed (San Mateo, CA)

      Interview

Indeed uses a 3 step interview process, and was very transparent with me from the beginning about salary, the interview process and expectations, and company culture. They also checked in with me after each interview to get my thoughts and to test the waters to see how I was feeling about the company moving forward. It was helpful to know exactly how many interviews I would possibly be completing before I would know an answer, and they moved through the process relatively quickly and smoothly. I was first contacted by their recruiter via email and scheduled a brief phone interview shortly after. I made it to the second interview was at the Indeed office in San Mateo where I interviewed individually with 3 sales leads (and a pink monkey) from the three teams I could possibly be assigned to and was afterwards asked on my thoughts about each manager and which team I could see myself joining and why. Very quickly, I even made it to the third and final interview with the Senior director of sales and a mock sales call at the office. Everyone was very friendly and very encouraging and as I mentioned extremely transparent throughout the whole process. I felt a little mislead that I made it to the final interview, getting all good feedback from everyone, and didn't make the cut but that's how these things go. You have to just keep going. The emails and phone calls were all above and beyond and extremely helpful. The recruiter even prepped me with links and questions for each interview.

      Singapore

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Indeed (Singapore) in Feb 2026

      Interview

The recruiter was based in Bangalore, India. At the start of the interview, he read through the job scope directly from his screen. He spoke very fast with a strong accent, which made it difficult for me to fully understand. After reviewing the role, he asked questions related to the sales process, motivation, strengths, sales targets, handling difficult customers, availability, and salary expectations. I asked for clarification more than once and answered the questions based on my understanding. The interview felt very transactional, with limited interaction beyond the scripted questions. Just some feedback, I feel I would have been able to respond more effectively if the questions were shorter and more direct. Some of the questions were quite lengthy. I have no issue with different accents, but speaking slower and clearer pace of speech would have improved comprehension.

      Accepted offer
      Positive experience

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Indeed (New York, NY) in Dec 2025

      Interview

Fast paced but thorough. Was able to finish the process within 3-4 weeks. Fully remote and interviewed with several directors. The process felt personable and the directors took time to make sure that it was a good fit for me as well.

      Interview

Just a phone screen. It was clear the recruiter didn't fully read/misread my resume when she got on the call as I could hear her having her "oh oops" moment. Haven't heard since. At least she was candid that they don't promise any feedback or communication as a policy.
