      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 6 months. I interviewed at Indeed (Dublin, Dublin) in Mar 2019

      Interview

Most unprofessional recruitment process I've ever experienced, which is ironic - for a recruitment company! I was referred by my friend (a manager in Indeed) in March. I was scheduled for a phone screen with a lady. A different gentleman called me and explained the lady was out. I passed the phone screen with him and was given a Skills Assessment. 30 minutes to answer 2x questions, example: 1. introduce yourself to a new client 2. explain how to set up a campaign to a new client. Easy enough as I worked as an Account Manager previously so this is standard. After a week without a reply I emailed the Indeed recruiter. I emailed again after a further week. Received a reply from a totally new recruiter stating the gentleman I was dealing with before is no longer with Indeed - this is my third recruiter now. She promised to check if they're still hiring for the role and get back to me in a week. Did not get back to me, I followed up. Recruiter apologized and said there is a hiring pause at the moment at Indeed. Asked me to contact her again when I see the same role open. Month goes by, I see same role open. Email the last recruiter. No reply. My friend at Indeed later contacts me to say he was chatting to the hiring manager of this team and they are looking for 3 people. He refers me again. Get contacted by an 'Employee Referral Recruiter' from Texas - during the call get informed that she knows what happened and is extremely sorry about the unprofessional behavior - said team will either review my previous assessment or get me to answer the new one, will get back to me in a few days, promised she will be my 'recruitment hero'. On Friday receive a jumbled call at 15:00 Dublin time from Texas. Can't answer as in work. Recruiter left voicemail. The connection was bad so could not make out the whole voicemail but I think the gist was that the Team decided to go with another candidate. Odd since there was meant to be 3x positions. Also odd is a rejection on a Friday!? That's bad form. Anyway, I emailed the recruiter again to say the voicemail was bad and I could not make out most of the message and may be get some more feedback. No reply. Emailed again and cc'ed my Indeed friend. No reply either. So that's my experience! No transparency, poor recruitment, poor communication, total waste of time. I also visited the office and the people are almost stacked on top of each other - there is so little space to breath there, but besides that the office top notch. Feel like dodged a bullet. Obtained a much better role soon after.

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review about your recruitment experience in Dublin. It is disappointing for us to read that your experience was poor, as one of the biggest goals of our Talent Attraction team is to ensure candidates have a great candidate experience. We are regularly reviewing our recruitment processes to ensure they are streamlined and adequate communication is given within a satisfactory timeframe. This is not an experience we want to foster for future candidates and therefore if you are open to it, we would appreciate the opportunity to talk with you further about your review. We’d love for you to reach out to us at inside@indeed.com.
