I applied for a job posted by Impact Property Solutions on Indeed and was contacted quickly by Russell Beard whose messages only contained the company name; Impact Floors Of Texas LLC. He asked me multiple questions via email, and I promptly responded requesting to schedule a call to discuss my responses. He responded quickly by sending me an invite to schedule the call via Teams.
I joined the call at our scheduled time and quickly picked up on Russell Beard's negative energy & lackluster demeanor, nonetheless I remained my cheery self. During the interview I began experiencing technical issues with latency causing my system to freeze mid-conversation. I sent a chat via the platform letting Russell Beard know I was logging off and back on to reset the connection. I realized McAfee was running a scan simultaneously and rejoined the call within a couple minutes, being informed someone would let me in the meeting shortly as I'd received when I initially joined the call. I also sent Russell Beard an email letting him know what happened and that I rejoined the call. I waited 10 minutes and sent two follow-up emails during that time but got no response. I decided to try calling Russell Beard but upon checking the emails he'd sent previously, neither contained any contact information, besides his email because he didn't have a signature which is shady and should be investigated by Indeed as a potential scam. I proactively rescheduled the call and sent a final email advising Russell Beard that I'd done so. The following day I received the rejection email, at least he did that properly. I also received the cancellation confirmation, but no other contact from this unprofessional Recruiter. As a Recruiter myself, I was disgusted with the unprofessionalism.
This is a terrible way to do business. If a candidate has technical issues during a virtual interview and is not the right fit for a job, at least respond to the multiple emails -especially when they inform you they rejoined and waiting for your return as well. I could've spent those 10 minutes doing something more productive than sitting in a video lobby waiting for a recruiter to return and/or even respond. I was trained better than that and wouldn't want Russell Beard as a peer or a representation for my organization. He gives good Recruiters a bad rep. I wouldn't work for this company if they offered me 10 times my salary requirement, because Russell Beard left a dirty, rotten taste in my mouth, ughh.
Russell Beard, as a Recruiter who loves giving advice to help aid jobseekers in their career search, I have a suggestion for you -Don't ignore people. That's unprofessional and extremely disrespectful.
Impact Property Solutions -Recruit a quality Recruiter. Not me of course!
