I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at IKEA (Perth, Western Australia) in Oct 2017
Interview
IKEA conducted a group interview of about 20-25 people. We were welcomed into a small presentation room in which there were 4 tables of maybe 5 chairs each. they started with a presentation about IKEA'S values and the information about each department in the company and the jobs hiring. around the room you will see maybe 5-6 IKEA employees with clipboards observing everyone in the room (taking notes). after the presentation the first activity was to split into smaller groups of 2 or 3 at your table and get to know the persons name and their least favorite band/ music performer! in every group someone presented the info they found out to the rest of the room.
before the next activity you get numbered off into a different group in which we were all required to write an example of good and bad customer service. then someone from each table presented the answers they came up with. during this process you will be watched by the employees with the clipboards and they will access the interactions being made so be sure to speak up and make a contribution to the discussion. someone at each table presents ideas discussed. you are then numbered off again to join different people at a different table. in the next activity you are given a box with an IKEA product in it and within your group you have to use team work to assemble the product in 10 minutes its a race. my group actually won this challenge before the deadline! it was fun.
that was the last activity and the next stage is to be tapped on the shoulder by an employee to attend an individual one on one interview which every person gets to do.
this interview is just confirming the information they have about you and then they ask you some questions these are the ones I can remember:
(p.s. just remember this is how my interview was. I cant say your will be the same)
Interview questions [4]
Question 1
give an example of a time you demonstrated teamwork skills (IKEA is huge on teamwork)
I applied online. I interviewed at IKEA (Rockwall, TX) in May 2026
Interview
It was easy, but felt rushed. The call lasted 6 minutes, and I barely got to speak, I wasn’t questioned or even asked about my previous experience. It just seemed like they had already chosen another candidate and sped through the rest of the interviews.
Not a question; but recipient said that the position “includes a bit of everything.” Food preparation, inventory, stocking, ect are all part of the job.
Really pleasant experience, very chill questions and interview process. I got the call to do an interview while I was on holiday, so I asked if I could do it online which wasn’t a problem at all.

I applied online. I interviewed at IKEA (Las Rozas de Madrid) in Aug 2024
Interview
Fuimos a la zona de restauracion. La entrevista consistió en una serie de preguntas rápidas. Fue bastante relajado (creo que el entrevistador se dio cuenta de que era mi primera entrevista de trabajo).
